Ship Ruin #1 – Letterfrack

Ship Ruin #1 – Letterfrack, originally uploaded by eibrandr.

As I was driving down to Clifden (although I did not know I was going to Clifden at the time), I passed a little pier with this stunning old ship docked at it.

After a quick check in the mirrors and some heavy breaking, I pulled into the pier.

Because of the strong light coming in from the soon to be setting sun, I had to light the side of the ship with a flash on a wireless trigger, placed in front of the cabin.

This ship is worthy of another visit, its got shot potential.

Update: I’ve uploaded a Google Earth kml of the site of the ship for those interested in visiting it!

Very sweet. I must make a note of this one for the abandonedboats project I have idly going very slowly in the background.

    Thanks Treasa,

I’ve updated the post with a kml file if you want to locate the ship :)

Thank you for that – helps a lot. I feel a trip west coming on sometime soon.

actually maybe I should have done it yesterday given the way the weather has changed today.
