Rachel - Only the deepest Red #1

This shot of part of series, where I tried to emulate, or draw from some scenes in Jack Vettriano’s paintings.

Big thank you to Rachel and to Carl of RedTree Studio.

My friend the Horse

May 22nd, 2010 by richard

My friend the Horse, originally uploaded by eibrandr.

This is the same horse from the other day, but in mugshot portrait format. Another car had arrived in the car park, and he had to take a look-see.

Nice beast he was.

Pibroch

Pibroch, originally uploaded by eibrandr.

I drove by this boats (a Clyde Puffer apparently) mooring point at the weekend, and it looked like it was being dismantled. Apparently, once upon a time, somebody thought they might try and renovate it (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/3205371.stm )

This beautiful horse was watching me getting ready for a time-lapse sequence, very friendly and vocal.

Due to lack of interest, school is now closed…

May 4th, 2010 by richard

Old school buildings are intriguing.
They are part of a time when communities existed in rural areas, where no soccer mums lived and the suv’s did not hog the roads.

In their emptiness and solitude, they speak of a history of not so long ago, but long gone.

Clouds over bog

Clouds over bog, originally uploaded by eibrandr.

The mountain road from Tourmakeady to Westport can display some wonderful vistas, and this one appealed to me.

The weather has to play nicely too, and this saturday’s clouds certainly helped with setting a scene.

Can you hear the banjos?

Can you hear the banjos?, originally uploaded by eibrandr.

I was on a road I had never taken before, from Tourmakeady to Westport, take the turn off to Leenane. This area is called Glenmask.

Those community Alert Area’s in remote places like this always bring a smile to my face.

Sunrise #4 – Tourmakeady – Lough Mask

April 21st, 2010 by richard

Another shot from the sunrise session I had a couple of weeks ago now. The stillness of the lake worked in my favour again, this lake is truly amazing in how it can look so different within a few minutes of each other.
